Do you like scavenger hunts and art? Well we have the perfect event for you! The two have been combined into one great event at the Cleveland Institute of Art Friday, January 13. The Harvard Alumni Club has invited the Big Ten Clubs to join them for this event once again. Last year there were over 100 participants!
RESERVING
Admission will cost $10 per person. To sign up, go to their club's events site at http://clubs.harvard.edu/olc/pub/HAA/university/events.jsp?chapter=130 . Scroll down through the events to see the Scavenger Hunt. Enter "Michigan State University" in the box asking for your club affiliation. Please do not confuse them by entering anything other then that. Then pay with credit card or Paypal account. It will try to steer you to use PayPal, but you don't have to.
This year, they have decided to use the reservation money to give $500 scholarships to Cleveland high-school seniors whose counselors picked them last year to be the "best junior" student. The Harvard club has already set aside enough other money to pay for three of these scholarships, and we're hoping to make $1,500 at this event so that we can give three additional ones.
CLUB GUIDES
There will be a guide person from the Michigan club that you should look for, who will give hints as needed to participants having trouble matching clues to their respective piece of art.
NIGHT-OF DETAILS
We will meet in the Recital Hall in the basement of the East Wing at 6:30 p.m. At about 6:45, we will send you to the galleries where the hunt art objects reside. About an hour later, we'll meet again to announce winners.
After the hunt, we will again this year repair to the Euclid Tavern a few blocks away, where we will put on free hors d'oeuvres and you can buy something to drink. Winning teams (at least five) from the scavenger hunt will win free drink tickets. Since most people will be able to answer all the scavenger hunt questions, the winning teams will be the first ones to turn in mistake-free entries
Again this year, we ask that you not let your Ph.D. art historian ringers enter the contest. They can play for fun, but they cannot help competing teams.

Although our club has been more active in some years than others, we've done some interesting things. Highlights include:
- Parties at Cavs games, including receptions with form MSU players now turned pro. - Winter Holiday Parties and Summer Golf Outings - Receptions for business school students touring Cleveland firms - Various Big Ten Events - College fairs across the area - Raised money for scholarships for students from NE Ohio at MSU
